春の兆し A sign of Spring

今朝[けさ]、ハミルトンで撮[と]った写真[しゃしん]です。赤い花[はな]は日本語でボケと言います。普通[ふつう]の単語[たんご]の「ぼけ」はfoolishという意味[いみ]なんですよ。こんなに可愛[かわい]い花[はな]のに、なんだかかわいそうですね。

まだまだ寒[さむ]い日が続[つづ]きますが、春[はる]も、もうすぐですね!

Those photos were taken this morning in Hamilton. The red flower is Japanese quince, which is called boke in Japanese. “Boke” as an ordinary word means foolish. It is rather a strange name for such pretty flower.
 
It is still cold but Spring will be coming here soon!
