Sydney is an ethnic city in many respects. There are all types (racial) of people there and varieties of restaurants there. Sushi, needless to say, is Japanese cuisine and is now common in NZ too. But! We have not have many Kaiten zushi restaurants yet (I know there is one in Auckland). Kaiten means “circulation” and as you can see in the photo above, sushi dishes are circulated in front of the customers and the customers pick whichever they fancy. When they are ready to go, the waiters count plates the customers picked and prepare a bill for them.

There were quite a few Kaiten zushi restaurants in Sydney. The photo above shows one of them located in the CBD.

I hope we will have those restaurants here more in the near future!
