今[いま]ニュージーランドは春[はる]スキーの季節[きせつ]です。北島[きたじま]、南島[みなみじま]にそれぞれいくつものスキー場[じょう]があります。ワイカト大学があるハミルトン市[し]から一番[いちばん]近[ちか]いスキー場[じょう]はルアペフ山[さん]にあるファカパパ、トゥロアという2つのスキー場[じょう]です。ルアペフ山[さん]は北島[きたじま]の真[ま]ん中[なか]にあります。何日[なんにち]か続[つづ]けてスキーを楽[たの]しみたい時[とき]は、ナショナル･パークという町[まち]や、オハクネという町[まち]に泊[と]まります。ナショナル･パークはファカパパ･スキー場[じょう]に、オハクネはトゥロア･スキー場[じょう]に近[ちか]い町[まち]です。
ルアペフ山[さん]は活火山[かつかざん]なので、スキー場[じょう]のある山[やま]の上[うえ]の方[ほう]に行[い]くまでには、岩[いわ]や草[くさ]がごろごろ転[ころ]がっています。スキー場[じょう]から見[み]える景色[けしき]はこんな感[かん]じです。
リフト利用[りよう]一日券[いちにちけん]は今年[ことし]は大人[おとな]が83ドルです(5,300円くらい)。日本[にほん]のスキー場[じょう]に比[くら]べて安[やす]いのでしょうか、高[たか]いのでしょうか。
It is the spring ski season now here. There are several ski fields in the North Island as well as the South Island. For us, people living in Hamilton, where the University of Waikato is located, Whakapapa ski area and Turoa ski area, where are situated on Mt. Ruapehu are the nearest. Mt. Ruapehu is in the centre of the North Island. If you want to stay there for a while, National Park is the town for Whakapapa goers and Ohakune is the one for Turoa goers. Mt. Ruapehu is a volcano and you will see big rocks and robust grasses on the way to the top of the mountain. The view you can see from the ski area is shown in the photo above.
A day lift pass there costs 83 dollars (for adults) this year (about 5,300 yen). Is this cheap or expressive comparing to the price in Japanese ski fields?
