今日はオーストラリアのロックバンドの話[はなし]をしているんじゃないですよ~。JETプログラムは、日本で働[はたら]く素晴[すば]らしいチャンスです! このインフォ・セッションには誰[だれ]でも来[く]ることができます!

I am not talking about an Australian rock band today! This is about a great opportunity of working in Japan! Anybody can come to this info session this Wednesday; you do not have to be a student of the University of Waikato or anything like that! ALL WELCOME!

What is the JET programme?

The JET (Japan Exchange and Teaching) Programme is a Japanese government sponsored exchange programme that seeks to promote mutual understanding between Japan and other nations. The programme aims to encourage international exchange through fostering ties between Japanese and foreign youth.

The JET programme offers New Zealand citizens who hold a university degree or teaching qualification opportunities to serve in local government organizations as a Coordinator for International Relations (CIR) or teach at primary, junior high and senior high schools as an Assistant Language Teacher (ALT).

Come along to one of the information sessions below and find out more about participating in the world’s largest youth exchange programme from former JET participants.

  • I recently qualified as an ESOL teacher and am interested in teaching in Japan. Will there be any information evenings / sessions in Wellington?

  • Fumiko Nishimura says:

    Hi Bev:
I quickly checked the website of Embassy of Japan. The site says that the info sessions will be held in Wellington on:
    • Monday 14 September 2009, 12-1pm
Lecture Theatre 220, Level 2, Murphy Building, Victoria University
    • Thursday 17 September, 6-7pm
Japan Information & Cultural Centre, Level 18, The Majestic Centre, 100 Willis Street
    • Thursday 15 October, 6-7pm
Japan Information & Cultural Centre, Level 18, The Majestic Centre, 100 Willis Street
So you can go to the October one! The site (http://www.nz.emb-japan.go.jp/culture_education/JET.html#presentations) gives you all sorts of info related to the JET programme. You can download the application form & guidelines as well.
    Good luck!
