Halloween

It’s 31 October today – yes, it’s Halloween.

上[うえ]の写真[しゃしん]は、お菓子[かし] (okashi is confectionary; snack; sweets) の箱[はこ] (hako is box)です。

It is not so popular in Japan as U.S., but department stores, supermarkets, and all sorts of other stores sell Halloween related products this month in Japan. Some Japanese hold a Halloween theme party as well. The photo above is a box of confectionary. I bought it in a Japanese department store several years ago as I happened to be there in October. There is no Japanese words printed on the box but only English, so you might think it’s not a Japanese one. But please have a look at it carefully – can you see “KOBE” at the left-top corner? Yes, I definitely bought this in Japan!

This is the back of the box!! All Japanese!!
