日本人は春[はる]は桜[さくら]、秋[あき]は紅葉[こうよう] (koo means red and yoo means leaves, so you know what kooyoo means now…)

Cherry for Spring and Maples for Autumn – this is what Japanese people really appreciate. We love such magic of the natures.

It is now towards the end of October and you can see beautiful yellow and red coloured mountains all over the country. Nikko is one of the most famous and popular places for beautiful Autumn scenery. I saw a news on Asahi Shimbun Newspaper the other day reporting long long traffic jam occurred around Nikko area – it is because many people tried to get there to see the beautiful nature in the weekend. You can see a photo showing beautiful mountains and the long traffic jam on this site.

The photo above is taken by me in Kyoto some years ago. Kyoto is also famous for beautiful Autumn scenery.
