日本[にほん]は今[いま]冬[ふゆ]で、とても寒[さむ]いです。写真[しゃしん]を見[み]てください、犬[いぬ]も寒[さむ]いのでしょうか。日本[にほん]では、犬[いぬ]のためのグッズ(guzzu means goods)がたくさん売[う]られています。犬[いぬ]の服[ふく]やグッズは決[けっ]して安[やす]くありません。犬[いぬ]は嬉[うれ]しいのでしょうか…。
私[わたし]はニュージーランドで服[ふく]を着[き]た犬[いぬ]を見[み]たことがありません。このような、犬[いぬ]の服[ふく]は他[た]の国[くに]ではふつうなのでしょうか。
It’s winter in Japan and cold! Do dogs feel cold, too? Many dog owners in Japan like to buy all sorts of “goods” for their dog. One of them is this type of “dog clothes” and they are not cheap… I am not sure if the dogs really appreciate it…
I have never seen dogs wearing clothes in New Zealand. How common is this in other countries?

我が家の場合は、夏のように暑い季節には洋服をあまり着せませんが、寒い冬に外出する時はなるべく着せるようにしています。犬種にもよると思いますが、概して、小さい犬は寒がりです。寒いとブルブル震えるからです。
犬に洋服を着せるのには色々な理由があるようです。我が家の場合は、上記の通り、主に防寒用途ですが、夏に蚊に刺されるのをできだけ防ぐとか、抜け毛が舞うのを防ぐとか、毛が汚れるのを防ぐとか、そういう理由で着せる人もいます。もちろん、飼い主によっては、ファッションのために犬に洋服などを着せる場合もありますね。

I’m surprised but glad to see my doggies here. In this photo, brown one is TAFFY and cream one is RANDY.
My dogs rarely wear clothes during warm/hot season like summer, but in the cold season. Whether they are OK or Not without clothes seems to depend on the breed, and generally small dogs are believed to be cold-natured. My dogs are shivering when I forgot to get them dressed in winter.
There are some reasons for dogs to wear clothes. In my case, I put wears on my dogs for cold protection. Otherwise, preventing from mosquito bites, making their hair not to flip out, keeping them from getting dirty.
As you can tell, some people like to dress them up just for fashion.

そうなんですか、犬の中にも寒がりさんがいるんですね。知りませんでした。NZでは服を着た犬は小さい犬でも見たことがありません。NZの人にきっと面白いと思って、使わせていただきました。

そうですね、海外ではあまり洋服を着た犬は見ませんね。New YorkやLAなどで、セレブがファッションで着せているイメージが強いかもしれません。
日本だと動物病院でも、洋服を着せるように指示されることがあるんですよ。
我が家のは、実用半分、面白さ半分というところでしょうか。

NZは14,5年前に、2週間ほどオークランドのランゲージスクールに通っていたことがあり、懐かしく感じます。また、機会があったら、訪れてみたいです。
