わぁぁぁぁぁ!!!
Wooooooooow!!!
先日[せんじつ]、大学[だいがく]に来[くる]る途中[とちゅう]で(= on the way to~)この写真[しゃしん]を撮[と]りました。これはウェタという虫[むし] (= insect)だとおもいます。NZの映画[えいが]の会社[かいしゃ]、Weta Studioは(The Load of the Rings やAvatarなどで有名[ゆうめい])、この虫[むし]から名前[なまえ]を考[かんが]えたんだと思[おも]います(←本当[ほんとう]にそうかは自信[じしん] (= confidence)がないんですけど…)。とにかく。この虫[むし]について、私[わたし]は聞[き]いたことはありましたが見[み]たことはありませんでした。それで先日[せんじつ]初[はじ]めて見[み]て、とても大[おお]きいのにびっくりしました。多分[たぶん]、7-8cmくらいだったと思[おも]います。これまで見[み]た虫[むし]の中[なか]で、一番[いちばん]大[おお]きな虫[むし]です。
本当[ほんとう]にびっくりしました!!!
I took this photo on the way to the university the other day. I think this is an insect called weta. I think Weta Studio, a famous NZ film production company (← is this the correct description??) for its participation to film productions such as the Load of the Rings, Avatar, and so on, was named after this insect (I am not 100% sure though!). Anyway I heard of this insect before, but this was the first time to see the actual one. It was huge! I did not measure it, but it was around 7-8cm — one of the biggest insects I have ever seen!
It was indeed shockingly big!!
