今[いま]、日本[にほん]は新茶[しんちゃ]の茶摘[ちゃつみ] (= tea picking)の季節[きせつ]です。朝日[あさひ]新聞[しんぶん]のこの記事[きじ]に、お茶[ちゃ]を作[つく]っている写真[しゃしん]があります。今年[ことし]は、3月[がつ]に急[きゅう]に(= suddenly)寒[さむ]くなってお茶[ちゃ]の葉[は]に被害[ひがい] (= damage)が出[で]ました。そのため、今[いま]、新茶[しんちゃ]の量[りょう]が少[すく]なく、値段[ねだん]がとても高[たか]くなっているそうです。
新茶[しんちゃ]は香[かお]りがよく、とてもおいしいです。私[わたし]もお茶[ちゃ]が飲[の]みたくなってきました…。
It is the season now in Japan to pick first tea leaves, Asahi Shimbun Newspaper reported. This page shows a photo of people making tea. First tea leaves are not so much available at the moment because tea plantations were hit by low temperature in March this year. Because of the low volume in the market, the price is really high at the moment.
The first tealeaves produce really fragrant beautiful tea. It makes me feel like a nice fresh cup of tea…
