クライストチャーチでは、懸命[けんめい]な救助[きゅうじょ](= rescue)作業[さぎょう] (= work)が続[つづ]けられています。
Rescue work has still continued in Christchurch.
2日前の朝日[あさひ]新聞[しんぶん]に、CTVビルから救助[きゅうじょ]された奥田[おくだ]建人[けんと]さんのニュースが出[で]ました。奥田[おくだ]さんは、英語[えいご]研修[けんしゅう] (= study)のためクライストチャーチにいました。幸[さいわ]い(= fortunately)、建物[たてもの] (= building)の中[なか]から助[たす]けられましたが、そのために、足[あし]を切断[せつだん] (= amputation)しなければいけませんでした。

Asahi Shimbun Newspaper reported two days ago about Kento Okuda, a survivor from CTV building. Mr Okuda was studying English there. He was one of the lucky ones, but had to have his leg amputated to be saved from rubble. Today’s New Zealand Herald also reports Mr Okuda’s news.
