12月[がつ]になって、クリスマスも近[ちか]いし、とても忙[いそが]しいですよね。こんなとき、こんなお弁当[べんとう]があれば、便利[べんり](= convenient)でいいですよね。

It is December and Christmas is approaching. Everybody is so busy. It would be very handy if O-bento (= boxed meal) would be readily available in such busy days!

みなさんは、日本[にほん]のお弁当[べんとう]、食[た]べたことがありますか。日本[にほん]では、いろいろな店[みせ]で、そして、駅[えき]でいろいろなお弁当[べんとう]を買[か]うことができます。上[うえ]の写真[しゃしん]のお弁当[べんとう]は、大阪[おおさか]の駅[えき]で買[か]いました。850円[えん]だったと思[おも]います。もちろん、ニュージーランドにも。そのような食[た]べ物[もの]がありますけど、日本[にほん]の方[ほう]が種類[しゅるい](= types; kinds)がたくさんありますよ! 

Have you eaten Japanese O-bento before? This type of ready-to-eat-meals are available in all sorts of shops, supermarkets, and train stations in Japan. I bought the above O-bento in a station in Osaka, Japan. It was 850 yen (around 14 NZ dollars). There are, of course, such meals purchasable in supermarkets in New Zealand. However, more varieties are available in Japan, I reckon.

As you can see in the above photo, Japanese O-bento typically offers a little bit of all sorts of different dishes and looks colourful and pretty!
