Uni students job prospect

文部科学省[もんぶかがくしょう](= Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Sciences and Technology)と厚生労働省[こうせいろうどうしょう] (= Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare)が、来春[らいしゅん] (= next Spring)卒業[そつぎょう] (= to graduate)予定[よてい] (= to be scheduled)の大学生[だいがくせい]の就職[しゅうしょく]内定[ないてい][りつ] (= percentage of people who received a job offer)を発表[はっぴょう]しました。

Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Sciences and Technology and Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare jointly reported the percentage of the present prospective university graduates who received a job offer(s) so far.

According to Asahi Shimbun Newspaper, the percentage is 63.1% as of 1 October 2012. It is better than that of last year by 3.2%. Increase is good news, but this figure means that nearly 40% uni students who are expecting to graduate in a few months do not know what they will do from April 2013 (NB. The graduation month in Japan is always March). Those students must be worried now.

This page of Asahi Shimbun Newspaper includes a chart showing the movement of the percentage these years. This news indicates that Japan is still suffering from the recession, I guess…
