昨日[きのう]の写真[しゃしん]は、障子[しょうじ]です。障子[しょうじ]は、ご覧[らん]の通[とお]り(= as you can see)、木[き]の枠[わく](= frame)に和紙[わし](= traditional Japanese paper)を張[は]ったものです。和紙[わし]は丈夫[じょうぶ](= robust)ですが、そのうち破[やぶ]れます(= to tear)。破[やぶ]れた和紙[わし]を取[と]り除[のぞ]いて(= to get rid of)、新[あたら]しい和紙[わし]をはると、障子[しょうじ]がきれいになります。12月の大掃除[おおそうじ]で、この障子[しょうじ]の張[は]り替[か]えをすることが多いです。 The photo that appeared here yesterday showed Shoji, which is an indoor-sliding door made of wooden frame and traditional Japanese paper called Washi. 日本[にほん]では毎年[まいとし]年末[ねんまつ](= end of year)に、大掃除[おおそうじ](lit. big cleaning)をします。これは、新[あたら]しい年[とし]をきれいな、すっきりした(= tidy)家[いえ]で迎[むか]える(= to welcome)ためです。 年[ねん]に1度[ど]の特別[とくべつ]な(= special)掃除[そうじ]です。いつもはしない掃除[そうじ]や修理[しゅうり](= repair)をします。たとえば、これ! Xmas 2012 4!

先日[せんじつ]のケーキ、なぜか入[い]れ物[もの](= container)にはこんなプリントが。。。 何[なに]が書[か ]いてあるのかわかりませんでしたが、ケーキはおいしかったです!! The cake I showed the other day here was served in a container which had some messages printed on. I did not understand what it said but I enjoyed the cake!!

Xmas 2012 2!

先日[せんじつ]の写真[しゃしん]は、ハンドベルのパフォーマンスでした。「きよしこの夜[よる]」など、クリスマスの曲[きょく](= songs)をいろいろ聞[き]くことができました。とても美[うつ]しいパフォーマンスでした。 The photo I uploaded the other day showed music-bell performance. Those people played a few Christmas songs such as "Silent night". It was beautiful performance.
