ニュージーランドのテレビ、新聞[しんぶん]、ラジオなどでニュースを見[み]聞[き]きします。しかし、福島[ふくしま]原発[げんぱつ] (= Fukushima Nuclear Power Plants)のニュースは殆[ほとん]どありません。今[いま]もいろいろな問題[もんだい]が起[お]こっています。
I watch/listen to news here, in New Zealand but hardly see/hear anything about Fukushima Nuclear Power Plants now. There are still a lot of problems happening.
今日[きょう]毎日[まいにち]新聞[しんぶん]で1つ記事[きじ] (= article)を読[よ]みました。福島[ふくしま]に住[す]んでいる子[こ]ども18人[にん]に甲状腺[こうじょうせん]がん(= thyroid cancer)が見[み]つかったというニュースです。そしてさらに25人[にん]の子[こ]どもがガンの疑[うたが]い(= suspicion)がある、ということです。2011年3月に地震[じしん] (= earthquake)が起[お]きたときに、福島県[ふくしまけん]に住[す]んでいた18歳[さい]未満[みまん] (= under 18 years old)の子[こ]どもの健康[けんこう]調査[ちょうさ] (= health check)がされています。これまで、21万6809人[にん]の子[こ]どもが検査[けんさ] (= examination)を受[う]けた(= received)そうです。
このような大切[たいせつ]なニュースがニュージーランドでもきちんと報道[ほうどう]される(= to be reported)といいのですが。。。
I read one article on Mainichi Shimbun Newspaper today. It reports that eighteen children in Fukushima were found with thyroid cancer. Another 25 kids are suspected to have thyroid cancer. The authority has carried health check with Fukushima kids who were under 18 at the time of the earthquake in March 2011. So far 216,809 kids had this examination.
I wish we could see/hear such important news on the radio/TV/newspaper here, in New Zealand as well.

とんでもないことなのに、日本でも報道が充分でないように思います。
うちは福島県ではないのですが、原発までの距離は福島の会津若松なんかより近いぐらいです。でも健康調査とかないし、「福島県」というくくりだけじゃ駄目なような気がします。

確かに、こどものガンの問題に限らず、日本国内でも原発関連の報道は十分でないような気がします。人々がだんだん不信感に苛まされていってもおかしくありません。
