春 2013? Spring 2013?

先日[せんじつ]、春[はる]の始[はじ]まりについて[か]きました。NZでは9月[がつ]から春[はる]、と考[かんが]えます。そして、考[かんが]えるだけじゃなくて、多分[たぶん]もう春[はる]なのかもしれません。

写真[しゃしん]は、トゥイという鳥[とり]と、コファイという木[き]です。トゥイはニュージーランドの鳥[とり]です。コファイはニュージーランドの木[き]です。コファイは春[はる]に花[はな]が咲[さ]きます。そして、鳥[とり]はこの花[はな]が好[す]きなのです。

このような風景を見ると、春かな~という気持ちになります。日本はいま、大雨が降って大変だそうですよ。

The above photo shows Tui (bird) and kowhai (tree). Both of them are NZ natives! Kowhai normally blossoms in (early) Spring and atracts birds as you can see in the photo!

This kind of picture definitely makes you feel that Spring is here. By the way, Japan has got so much rain and it has causes all sorts of damage (but then it is not so hot now, which many people would appreciate, I suppose…)
