上[うえ]の写真[しゃしん]は、何[なに]か分[わ]かりますか。これは飲[の]み物[もの]を買[か]う自販機[じはんき](= vending machine)です。日本人[にほんじん]は自販機[じはんき]が好[す]きです。日本[にほん]の至[いた]る所[ところ](= everywhere)に飲[の]み物[もの]の自販機[じはんき]があります。
As you might have heard, Japanese people like vending machines. There are quite a few vending machines of drinks across the country.
赤[あか]いしるしと青[あお]いしるしがあります。赤[あか]いのは熱[あつ]い飲[の]み物[もの](= hot drink)、青[あお]いのは冷[つめ]たい飲[の]み物[もの](= cold drink)です。つまり、日本[にほん]のどこでも、あつ～い飲[の]み物[もの]（冬[ふゆ]はいいですね!）、つめた～い飲[の]み物[もの]（暑[あつ]い夏[なつ]にはすばらしいっ!）を飲[の]むことができるのです。ふつう、１本[ぽん]120円[えん]です。(= one drink is normally 120 yen, which is equivalen to 1.5 NZ dollars)。飲[の]み物[もの]は缶[かん](= tin)に入[はい]っていることが多[おお]いです。

You can see drinks marked with red and blue colours. Red ones are hot drinks and blue ones are cold drinks. You can access to really hot drinks in winter and cold drinks in sticky hot summer practicallty anywhere in Japan. One drink normally costs around 120 yen, which is equivalent to 1.5 NZ dollars. Those drinks are normally tinned.
