今年[ことし]、私[わたし]はバーンズサパーに呼[よ]ばれました! 昨日[きのう]の写真[しゃしん]は、食事[しょくじ]が始[はじ]まる前[まえ]の特別[とくべつ]な儀式[ぎしき] (= ritual address)です。
I was invited to Burns supper the other day this year! The photo I posted here yesterday showed a scene of the supper (it was in the middle of “Address to a Haggis”).
スコットランドの人[ひと]による、セルカークグレースで食事[しょくじ]が始[はじ]まりました。伝統的[でんとうてき]なハギスとニップを食[た]べました（菜食[さいしょく]主義[しゅぎ]の人[ひと] (= vegetarian)が多[おお]くいたので、菜食[さいしょく]主義[しゅぎ]版[ばん] (= version)のハギスでした）。バーンズ氏[し]の詩[し]も一緒[いっしょ]に読[よ]みました。
食事[しょくじ]の終[お]わりには、かわいいゲストも（下[した]の写真[しゃしん]）! いろいろな国[くに]出身[しゅっしん]の人[ひと]が住[す]む、ニュージーランドならではの光景[こうけい] (= scene)です。おいしく、楽[たの]しかったです!!
A real Scotsman gave us the Selkirk Grace and it began. We all enjoyed a beautiful haggis (this was a vegetarian version since many of us there were vegetarians). We read Burn’s poetry afterwards.
We had a cute visitor at the end of the supper (see the photo below) – so New Zealand! It was a typical scene in New Zealand, a multi-cultural country, I reckon. It was great fun!
