菊[きく]は、英語でchrysanthemum、はい、花の名前です。菊芋の花は、まさに菊の花のようですから、この名前はよくわかります。英語の名前は。。。これは、北アメリカ原産[げんさん](= origin)の野菜ですから、ちょっとよくわかりません。
