日本の異常な天気 Extraordinary weather in Japan

今、日本の南[みなみ]の方[ほう]では、ものすごい大雨[おおあめ]が降[ふ]っています。6月、7月は梅雨[つゆ](= rainy season)です。梅雨は雨がたくさん降る季節[きせつ](= season)です。だから雨が降ることは珍[めずら]しく(= rare)はありません。しかし、今の大雨のレベルは、ふつうではありません。行方不明[ゆくえふめい](= missing)になった人がいるし、避難勧告[ひなんかんこく](= evacuation order)も出されました。

It has been raining particularly in the southern part of Japan these days. We have the rainy season between June and July each year and it is not out of ordinary having consecutive rainy days around this time of the year. However, a downpour in this extent is absolutely unusual. Some people have gone missing and evacuation order has been issued in some areas.

  • 本当に恐ろしい雨でした。台風が過ぎた後は、晴れると決まっていると思っていたので、驚きました。
    娘の義父母が、福岡県久留米市にいるのです。大丈夫かと連絡すると、なんと、その地区だけほとんど雨も降っていないということ。わずかな地域のズレで、助かったようです。
    まだ行方不明の方も多いようで、心配なことです。

    こちらで動画を見ましたが、本当にすごい降り方、水の溢れ方でした。九州の方は、地盤が地震でゆるんでいるところもあるでしょうし、本当に恐ろしいことです。
    水不足も困るけれど、こんな大雨も困りますよね。ここ数年、日本をはじめ世界中で異常なお天気が増えてきたような気がします。
