先週[せんしゅう]、ニュージーランドヘラルド紙[し]で、読む練習[れんしゅう]を手伝うすばらしい「先生」のニュースを読みました。
I read a very interesting article on the New Zealand Herald last week reporting amazing work by special teachers supporting kids' reading practice.
先生の名前はホリー。とてもかわいい犬です。読むのが苦手[にがて]な子供がホリーに本を読みます。ホリーは静[しず]かに聞いています。子供が間[ま]違[ちが]っても笑[わら]うことはないし、子供は何度でも安心[あんしん]してホリーに本を読むことができます。ホリーのほかにも、先生犬が活躍[かつやく]しているそうです。

The teacher is named Holly; she is Holly the dog! Kids who are not so good at reading books read a book to Holly. Ms Holly quitely and patiently listens to them. Holly never laughs at kid's mistakes and kids are always relaxed and keep practicing. There are some other 'teasher' dogs such as Mr Django working too.
I wish 'teacher' dogs like Ms Holly and Mr Django would help kids in Japan too… Is there any other coutries having such dog 'teachers'? Anyway, please have a read at the article if you are interested.
