イシグロさんは英国[えいこく](= UK)の作家[さっか](= writer)です。イシグロさんは日本で生まれて、5才のときに英国に移[うつ]りました(= moved)。イシグロさんは本を英語で書いています。でもイシグロさんの本は日本語に翻訳[ほんやく]されている(= to be translated)ので、私たちは日本語で楽[たの]しむことができます。
ともかく。イシグロさんは2015年に「The buried giant」という本を出しました。この本も日本語に翻訳[ほんやく]されていることを私は最近[さいきん](= recently)知[し]りました。でも、タイトルが違[ちが]う(= different)んです。
英語のタイトル：The buried giant
日本語のタイトル：忘[わす]れられた巨人[きょじん](= forgotten giant)
どうして違[ちが]うのか、私はわかりません。実[じつ]は私はこの本を読みました。この本の内容[ないよう](= contents)を考えると、「忘れられた」はちょっと違[ちが]うような気がします。「忘れられた」も悪[わる]くはないんですけど、もし私だったら多分[たぶん](= probably)、「忘れられた」じゃなくて、ほかの言葉[ことば]、例[たと]えば「埋[う]もれた」を使[つか]うと思[おも]います。
翻訳[ほんやく](= translation)っておもしろいですね！
Mr Ishiguro is a UK writer. Mr Ishiguro was born in Japan and moved to UK when he was five years old. Mr Ishiguro writes his novels in English but we can enjoy his books in Japanese as those have been translated into Japanese.
Anyway, the above photo shows one of his latest titled 'The buried giant'. I recently found that this one had been translated to Japanese, but the Japanese title is slightly different from the original one.

The Japanese title: the forgotten giant
I do not know why the translator changed the title like this. I have actually read this book and I do not think 'forgotten' delivers what 'buried' means quite well in this context. 'Forgotten' is not too bad, but if I were in the position, I would not choose 'forgotten'; perhaps would go for something like 'umoreta' in Japanese (which is closer to 'buried').
Translation is indeed an interesting field!
