Japan in New Zealand ニュージーランドの中の日本

I bought persimmons the other day. Can you read the sticker on the fruit (you can see a bigger photo below)? 先日[せんじつ](= the other day)、柿[かき](= persimmon)を買いました。柿についているシール、何かわかりますか(下にもっと大きな写真があります)。

You might not know that there are a few varieties of persimmons. One of the most consumed kinds is called 富有, which is read fuyuu (long vowel). I presume ‘Fuyu’ printed on the sticker refers to its kind. This is Japan I found in New Zealand! 柿にはいろいろ種類[しゅるい](= kind; type)があります。その中でよく食べられているのが、富有柿[ふゆうがき]という柿です。このFUYUは多分[たぶん](= probably)、富有のことですね。ニュージーランドで発見[はっけん]した(= found)日本です!
