What a game! You do not know what I am talking about? – it is of course, the cricket world cup final which took place last night/this morning (in the New Zealand time) at Lord’s, England.
すごい試合[しあい](= game)でしたね! えっ、何のことかって?－もちろん、イギリスのロード(= Lord’s)で開[ひら]かれたクリケット・ワールドカップの決勝戦[けっしょうせん](= the final)です。(Note: Lord’s: ロンドンにある有名[ゆうめい]なクリケット場[じょう]の名前です。this is the name of a famous cricket ground located in London)
It is interesting; all of us here, in New Zealand, more or less just talked about this one thing yesterday and perhaps today, but there is no mentioning in Japanese media! Japanese people have no idea what cricket is as there is no cricket going on there; instead (I am not sure if this ‘instead’ is the right phrase here), Japanese people are into baseball.
