Katakori (stiff shoulders)?

Many areas in New Zealand are at the COVID Alert Level 3. This means people in those areas should stay at home and work from home if it’s possible.

We, lecturers/teachers, naturally tend to spend so much time in front of a computer and… as a result, I have experienced massive KATAKORI!!! Have you heard of this word before? As you might imagine, this is a Japanese word and it means stiff shoulders. Have you got KATAKORI as well?

I have heard quite a few times that non-Japanese do not experience KATAKORI, which I cannot believe… or is it true!? Whatever, if you are working from home and spend a lot of time in front of a computer, do exercise!!! (I am telling this myself now ( ̄∇ ̄;)).

We will get through this. Kia kaha New Zealand!
