もうこのトピック（「初冬[しょとう]のニュージーランド」）は終[お]わり、と思[おも]っていました。でも、先日[せんじつ]この椿[つばき](= camellia)を見[み]てしまいました。あまりにもきれいで、写真[しゃしん]を撮[と]らずにはいられませんでした。。。 みなさんもそう思[おも]ってくださいますか? I thought I would not post any more photos for early winter 2013, but I just saw this camellia the other day. This is irresistibly beautiful (I hope you will agree on this)…

これも、今[いま]咲[さ]いているわけですから、冬[ふゆ]の花[はな]ですよね。私[わたし]の記憶[きおく](= memory)が正[ただ]しければ、これはニュージーランド原産[げんさん](= native)の植物[しょくぶつ](= plant)です（もし間[ま]違[ちが]っていたら、教[おし]えてください!）。かわいいですね。 This is also, I guess, winter flowers. If I remember correctly, this is a New Zealand native plant (please let me know if I am wrong!). Isn’t it pretty!

冬[ふゆ]の花[はな]も咲[さ]いています。これはご覧[らん]の通[とお]り(= as you see)、椿[つばき](= camellia)ですが、、、 You can see all sorts of winter flowers here now. This is, as you see, Camellia, but,,,  

いろいろな柑橘類[かんきつるい]の木[き](= citrus trees)があります。多[おお]くの家庭[かてい]の庭[にわ]にあるのは、これ。 There are all sorts of citrus trees in residents’ gardens here, but most of them is like this;

これも柑橘類[かんきつるい]の木[き]です。何[なに]かわかりますか。 This is also a citrus tree. Do you know what this is?

こちらの初冬[しょとう]の風景[ふうけい](= scenery)言[い]えば、これ!　This is a common scenery this time of the year!  

山[やま]に行[い]かなくても、自然[しぜん](= nature)は楽[たの]しめます。川[かわ]沿[ぞ]い(= alongside river)の秋[あき]／初冬[しょとう]の散歩[さんぽ](= walk)は楽[たの]しいです。写真[しゃしん]はワイカト川[がわ]の数日前[すうじつまえ](= a few days ago)の様子[ようす]です。この日[ひ]も多[おお]くの人[ひと]が、歩[ある]いたり、自転車[じてんしゃ]に乗[の]ったりしていました。   You do not have to go to mountain to see beautiful nature. It is nice to walk along a river in Autumn/early winter. The photo shows Waikato River (taken a few days ago). I saw quite a few people there walking or cycling.

昨日[きのう]、東京[とうきょう]の友人[ゆうじん]からメールをもらいました。とても暑[あつ]いそうです。ニュージーランドは今[いま]、初冬[しょとう](= early winter)、寒[さむ]いです。 I received an e mail message from a friend in Tokyo yesterday saying that it was very warm over there. It is early winter in New Zealand now.
