日本[にほん]には、飲[の]み物[もの]の自販機[じはんき](= vending machine)がたくさんあります。最近[さいきん]は、コーンスープも買[か]えるんですよ。今[いま]日本[にほん]は冬[ふゆ]ですから、もちろん、あたたかいスープです。びっくりですね! There are millions of vending machines in Japan. You can even buy a can of sweetcorn soup. it is winter over there and this soup is available really nicely hot! Isn’t is amazing!

日本[にほん]ではたばこの自販機[じはんき](= vending machine)があります。今[いま]は、子[こ]どもは買[か]えないようになっています（つまり、昔[むかし]は(= in the past)誰[だれ]でも自販機[じはんき]でたばこが買[か]えました）。 ニュージーランドの状況[じょうきょう](= situation)とはとても違[ちが]いますね。 As you can see in the above picture, there are tobaco vending machines in Japan.   ブライアン･ブレイク氏[し]はニュージーランド人[じん]で有名[ゆうめい]な写真家[しゃしんか] (= photographer)でした。アメリカの雑誌[ざっし]『Life』にたくさん写真[しゃしん]を出[だ]しました。 Brian Brake was a famous New Zealander photographer. He published a lot of photos in a prestigious American magazine Life.
