つい先日[せんじつ](= the other day)、パンダの赤[あか]ちゃんのニュースについてここに書[か]きました。残念[ざんねん]ながら、昨日[きのう]肺炎[はいえん] (= pneumonia)で死[し]んだそうです。日本[にほん]ではみんな、とても悲[かな]しんでいます。本当[ほんとう]に残念[ざんねん]です。このニュースはウォールストリートジャーナル日本語[にほんご]版[ばん]のこのページで読[よ]むことができます。 I wrote about Baby Panda the other day in this blog. Regrettably I have to report today that the Baby Panda died of pneumonia yesterday. 昨日[きのう]、福島[ふくしま]原発[げんぱつ] (= Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant)の事故[じこ](= accident)調査[ちょうさ](= investigation)委員会[いいんかい] (= committee; panel)が調査[ちょうさ]結果[けっか] (= results; outcomes)を発表[はっぴょう]しました(= released)。 A parliamentary panel that had been investigating Fukushima Nuclear Power Plant accident released its findings yesterday.

今[いま]、世界中[せかいじゅう]で大人気[だいにんき]の「One piece」。東京[とうきょう]のアートギャラリーで展覧会[てんらんかい] (= exhibition)がありました。このことは前[まえ]にこのブログでも書[か]きました。  There was the exhibition of One piece – one of the most popular manga in the world now – held in Tokyo (I wrote about this here sometime ago).

「ONE PIECE」というまんがは今[いま]、世界[せかい]中[じゅう]で人気[にんき]があります。今日[きょう]から6月17日まで、東京[とうきょう]の森[もり]アーツセンターギャラリーで「ONE PIECE 展[てん] (= exhibition)」があるそうです。朝日[あさひ]新聞[しんぶん]のこのページで、そのことを知[し]りました。 私[わたし]も今[いま]東京[とうきょう]にいたら、是非[ぜひ] (= by all means)行[い]ってみたいです。   ONE PIECE is one of the most popular manga across the world. “ONE PIECE exhibition” started at Mori Arts Center Gallery, Roppongi, Tokyo today. NOTTV(ノッティーヴィー)が4月に開局 NOTTV will be on air in April

朝日[あさひ]新聞[しんぶん]で今日[きょう]、NOTTV(ノッティーヴィー)が4月[がつ]に始[はじ]まる、というニュースを読[よ]みました。これは、スマートホンを使[つか]っている人[ひと]たちのための、テレビ番組[ばんぐみ] (= TV programme)が始[はじ]まるということです。スマートホンでテレビが見[み]られるのです。これは日本[にほん]で初[はじ]めてだそうです。見[み]たい人[ひと]は、月[つき]に420円[えん]払[はら]う(=to pay)ことになっています。 これって、世界[せかい]的[てき]には(= internationally)もう普及[ふきゅう] している(= prevalent)んでしょうか。すごい(= amazing)時代[じだい] (= era)になったものですね!   I read this article in Asahi Shimbun Newspaper today reporting that NOTTV, the first TV broadcast targeting Smartphone users in Japan, will start in April.  The subscription apparently costs  420 yen per month (about 7 NZ dollars).   Is this type of […]

アナログ放送終了 End of analogue broadcasting

  先週[せんしゅう]で、日本[にほん]ではテレビのアナログ(= analogue)放送[ほうそう] (= broadcasting)が終[お]わりました。3月の地震[じしん] (= earthquake)の被害[ひがい] (= damage)を受けた宮城県[みやぎけん]、岩手県[いわてけん]、そして福島県[ふくしまけん]だけはまだアナログ放送[ほうそう]を見[み]ることができます。だからこれからは、日本[にほん]でテレビを見[み]たい時[とき]は、デジタル(= digital)放送[ほうそう]が見[み]られるテレビ、または、チューナー(= tuner)を持[も]っていなければいけません。   今日[きょう]、Tokyo mxという放送局[ほうそうきょく]のニュースをYouTubeで見[み]ました。上[うえ]のYouTubeがそれです。   ニュージーランドもそのうち(= in the near future)、デジタル放送[ほうそう]だけになるのでしょうか?   Analogue TV broadcasting ended last week in Japan.
