初冬のニュージーランド2 Early winter 2013 2
山[やま]に行[い]かなくても、自然[しぜん](= nature)は楽[たの]しめます。川[かわ]沿[ぞ]い(= alongside river)の秋[あき]／初冬[しょとう]の散歩[さんぽ](= walk)は楽[たの]しいです。写真[しゃしん]はワイカト川[がわ]の数日前[すうじつまえ](= a few days ago)の様子[ようす]です。この日[ひ]も多[おお]くの人[ひと]が、歩[ある]いたり、自転車[じてんしゃ]に乗[の]ったりしていました。 You do not have to go to mountain to see beautiful nature. It is nice to walk along a river in Autumn/early winter. The photo shows Waikato River (taken a few days ago). I saw quite a few people there walking or cycling.

昨日[きのう]、東京[とうきょう]の友人[ゆうじん]からメールをもらいました。とても暑[あつ]いそうです。ニュージーランドは今[いま]、初冬[しょとう](= early winter)、寒[さむ]いです。 I received an e mail message from a friend in Tokyo yesterday saying that it was very warm over there. It is early winter in New Zealand now.

昨日[きのう]の続[つづ]きですが。。。 Continuing from yesterday’s post… レースが始[はじ]まった直後[ちょくご](= immediately after)の写真[しゃしん]です。この日[ひ]は、波[なみ](= wave)がとても荒[あら]くて(= rough)とてもダイナミックなレースとなりました。 The photo shows the moment immediately after the race started. The waves on that day were so rough and the race looked so dynamic! ところで。今日[きょう]も雨[あめ]が降[ふ]りません。。。 By the way, it does not rain today again…

羊[ひつじ]も大丈夫[だいじょうぶ]のようです。ですが、この写真[しゃしん]の羊[ひつじ]が大丈夫[だいじょうぶ]、ということで、ニュージーランド全国[ぜんこく]の農家[のうか]のみなさんは、深刻[しんこく]に(= seriously)現在[げんざい]の雨[あめ]なし状態[じょうたい]を心配[しんぱい]しています。 Lamb also seems okay… but this is perhaps only about these lamb and many farmers are seriously concerned about the current draught condition.

ワイカト大学[だいがく]があるハミルトンは、街[まち]ですけど、いたるところで(= everywhere) 自然[しぜん](= nature)が楽[たの]しめます。今[いま]は夏[なつ]の始[はじ]まりで、あちこちで美[うつく]しい若葉[わかば](= young leaves)が見[み]られます。そして、今朝[けさ]、その若葉[わかば]の中[なか]で際[きわ]立[だ]っていた(= standing out)のは。。。 Hamilton is a city but you can enjoy beautiful nature here. Now it is almost summer here and you can see beautiful young green everywhere. And… this morning there was something standing out in the nature, which was… かわせみです! King fisher!

日本[にほん]の女性[じょせい]月刊誌[げっかんし] (= monthly magazine)に、ニュージーランドの化粧品[けしょうひん] (= cosmetics)の広告[こうこく] (= ad)がありました。びっくり! キーワードは「ナチュラルプレミアム」だそうです。 I was surprised to find an ad of cosmetics made in New Zealand in the website of a Japanese female monthly magazine! Apparently the keyword of those products is “Natural Premium” (<– this is exactly what the website says…).
