和久田哲也さんの日本旅行 Tetsuya’s trip to Japan

みなさんはTetsuya’sというレストランを知っていますか。これはシドニーにあるレストランで、日本人シェフの和久田哲也[わくだてつや]さんのレストランです。とても素晴[すば]らしいレストランで、その分値段[ねだん]も高いそうです(←私は行ったことがない…)。でもとても人気があって、9ヶ月先まで(!!)予約がいっぱいだそうです。その和久田さんが去年の秋、日本を旅行しました。その様子[ようす]が『Travel+Leisure』(1/2月号)という雑誌[ざっし]に出ています。北は北海道[ほっかいどう]から南は沖縄[おきなわ]まで旅行し、いろいろなところでたくさん食べた旅行の様子が写真とともに紹介[しょうかい]されています。食べ物の話が中心[ちゅうしん]ですが、日本を旅行したい人に役立[やくだ]つ情報[じょうほう]ものっています。読んで私も日本へ帰りたくなってしまいました…。

Have you heard of Tetsuya’s? This is a very popular restaurant located in Sydney C.B.D. Mr Tetsuya Wakuda is the owner chef of this place. What I have heard of is (since I have never been there) the restaurant gives you wonderful gastronomic experience. Consequently it costs you a lot but the place is fully booked for next 9 months!
 
Mr Wakuda took a trip to Japan last autumn and a magazine called “Travel +  Leisure” (January/February 2009 Summer Issue) reports the trip with a lot of beautiful photos. Mr Wakuda started his trip from Hokkaido, the northern part of Japan and went to even Okinawa, the southern island in Japan. As you might guess, the article is just full of stories related to food and cooking (apparently Mr Wakuda’s motto fot the trip was “Eat till it hurts. And then eat some more”!!), but it also gives useful tips for people wanting to travel to Japan. The article made me feel like going to Japan now (and eat those yummy food)…
