Sports in New Zealand

New Zealand got two medals and Japan got 13 medals. The Olympics is indeed a big deal, but it seems that seasonal sports are picked up so much more often by media in New Zealand. It is indeed in the middle of cricket season in […]

3 Spring is just around the corner…3

People in New Zealand think spring starts on the 1st of September. August is almost over and yes, indeed, spring is just around the corner… I took the above photo this mroning; this is a prum tree.

Winter solstice and Matariki

It was the winter solstice in the Sothern Hemisphere yesterday. Some people here, in New Zealand, had a party. I was invited to a friends' house last night; we […]

3… Why not Easter 3…

Why Easter is not established in Japan – I have come up with another reason; it is about chocolate. Easter is indeed the important day for Christians. But we cannot deny the fact that huge […]

2… Why not Easter 2…

I could think of a few reasons that Easter is not so known in Japan. The first reason I came up with is its date. The date of Easter changes from year to year and I do not think Japanese people are particularly fond of […]
