Minami-Sanriku town (the earthquake related)

It is hard to recover from the earthquake in Japan as well. I just happened to find a newspaper article about the Japanese earthquake.

The article of Asahi Shimbun Newspaper I read was distributed on the 2nd of June 2011. Miyagi-prefecture is one of the worst affected areas by the earthquake in March. As of 1 June, around 94 % households had got water back. But Minami Sanriku-town, a town in Miyagi-prefecture, was really badly damaged and only 1.24% households there had got water back. The figure, 1.24%, is one month old (as it was reported on the 2nd of June). So hopefully the number is much higher now. But the article reported that since water pipes in the town were completely utterly damaged, the experts could not even estimate how long it would take to repair.

People in that area often go to a river to get washing done. The article mentioned above shows a photo of people doing washing in a river.

We all hope water will be back for them soon.
