It’s December! In Japanese, each month has a particular name and the name of December is shiwasu; 師走. The first character means ‘teachers’* and the second one means ‘running’; Japanese teachers sometimes exchange greetings like ‘are you running around (= busy) as it’s shiwasu now!?’ in December. Yes, I am a teacher and I am busy; that’s why my lunch today is a quick noodle dish!
By the way, this product is made by Nisshin, a Japanese food manufacturer (to be more accurate; made in the Nisshin factory in Indonesia), and I bought it at a local supermarket here, in Hamilton!
12月です。日本語では、各月[かくつき](= each month)に名前があります。12月の名前は師走[しわす]です。「師」は先生*、「走」は走[はし]る(= to run)、という意味[いみ](= meaning)です。日本では、12月、先生たちは「師走ですね、走り回[まわ]っています(= to be running around)か」とあいさつをすることがあります。そう、忙[いそが]しいんです、だから、今日の私のお昼[ひる]ご飯[はん]はインスタントラーメンです!
ちなみに、このラーメンは日清[にっしん]という日本の会社[かいしゃ](=company; manufacturer)のラーメンです（作ったのは、インドネシアにある工場[こうじょう](= factory)です）。ハミルトンにあるスーパーで買いました。
