先日[せんじつ]、冷[ひ]やし中華[ちゅうか]について書[か]きました。書[か]いた後[あと]、とても食[た]べたくなって自分[じぶん]で作[つく]りました!
I wrote about hiyashi chuka, cold ramen the other day, and then it made me really want to eat it. So I cooked it for myself!
麺[めん] (men in Japanese means noodle)をゆでた後[あと]、その麺[めん]を水[みず]でよく洗[あら]って冷[つめ]たく冷[ひ]やします。麺[めん]をお皿[さら]にいれて、その上[うえ]に料理[りょうり]した野菜[やさい]、ハム、鶏肉[とりにく]、えびなどをのせて、醤油[しょうゆ]や酢[す]を混[ま]ぜて作[つく]ったソースをかけて食[た]べます。野菜[やさい]はトマトやきゅうりなどを使[つか]います。先日[せんじつ]、オークランドに行[い]った時[とき]に日本[にほん]食[しょく]の店[みせ]でインスタントの冷[ひ]やし中華[ちゅうか]を買[か]いました(上[うえ]の写真[しゃしん])。それを使[つか]って作[つく]って食[た]べました。おいしかったです。
そしてそして! 今日[きょう]の朝日[あさひ]新聞[しんぶん]のコラムに冷[ひ]やし中華[ちゅうか]を見[み]つけました。日本[にほん]でとても有名[ゆうめい]な音楽[おんがく]プロデューサーの松任谷[まつとうや]さんという人[ひと]がお気[き]に入[い]り(okiniiri means favourite) の京都[きょうと]の店[みせ]の冷[ひ]やし中華[ちゅうか]（その店[みせ]では冷麺[れいめん]、と呼[よ]んでいます）を紹介[しょうかい]していました。冷[ひ]やし中華[ちゅうか]万歳[ばんざい]!

What you have to do is to cook hiyashi chuka noodle and wash it immediately with cold water to cool it down. Put the drained noodle in a plate and assort any toppings you want on top on the noodle; we often use sliced tomato, cucumber, ham, cooked chicken, prawn and so on. And then pour hiyashi chuka-sauce (made with soy sauce, vinegar etc.) I bought instant hiyashi chuka noodle packages at a Japanese food store in Auckland the other day (see the photos above). The package contained sauce as well so I did not have to make the sauce from scratch. It was yum!
Aaaand! I found hiyashi chuka in today’s Asahi Shimbun Newspaper. Mr Matsutoya, one of the most famous Japanese music producers reported his favourite hiyashi chuka sold in Kyoto (the shop calls this dish rei men (rei as well as hiyashi mean cold). VIVA HIYASHI CHUKA!
