今日[きょう]まで読[よ]む機会[きかい] (= opportunity)がなかったのですが、朝日[あさひ]新聞[しんぶん]に日本[にほん]の貧困[ひんこん] (= poverty)に関[かん]する(= related to)記事[きじ] (= article)がありました。去年[きょねん]の12月の記事[きじ]です。
For some reason, I did not notice this article – I just happened to find an article about poverty issues in Japan on Asahi Shimbun Newspaper today. The arcitle appeared in December last year.
国立[こくりつ]社会[しゃかい]保障[ほしょう]・人口[じんこう]問題[もんだい]研究所[けんきゅうしょ] (公式[こうしき] (= official)ウェブサイトはここ)の調査[ちょうさ] (= investigation)結果[けっか] (= results)についての記事[きじ]です。この調査[ちょうさ]は、2007年に集[あつ]めた(= collected)データを分析[ぶんせき]した(= analysed)ものです。この調査[ちょうさ]によると、勤労[きんろう] (= working)世代[せだい] (= age)、20 – 65歳[さい] の1人で暮[く]らしている女性[じょせい]の三分[さんぶん]の一[いち] (= one third)が貧困[ひんこん] だというのです。
日本[にほん]で貧困[ひんこん]。。。実[じつ]は、貧困[ひんこん]は現在[げんざい]、日本[にほん]の大[おお]きな社会[しゃかい]問題[もんだい]の1つです。このブログでも前[まえ]に書[か]きました。何[なん]だか信[しん]じられませんけど。。。
National Institute of Population and Social Security Research (its official website is here) reported that one third of living-alone women aged between 20 and 64 in Japan suffered from poverty. This result was gained based on the data collected in 2007.
You might be wondering if it’s true – poverty in Japan… Actually poverty is indeed one of the biggest social issues in Japan (I wrote about this issue in this blog before). It is hard to believe, isn’t it.
