4月です。日本では4月から新しい学年暦[がくねんれき](= academic year)が始まります。そして、4月にはいつも入学式[にゅうがくしき]があります。 ニュージーランドでは、子どもは5歳[さい]の誕生日[たんじょうび]の次[つぎ]の日から小学校に通[かよ]い始めます。日本の小学校は、みんな4月から通い始めるんです。どの子どももスタートは同じタイミングです。それで、4月のはじめには入学式があります。ニュージーランドには卒業式[そつぎょうしき]はありますが、入学式はありません。 また在校生[ざいこうせい](= current pupils)のために、日本では始業式[しぎょうしき]があります。これは毎[まい]学期[がっき](= each term)、はじめに(= at the beginning)全校[ぜんこう]の生徒(= all school pupils)が集[あつ]まって、式をします。 日本は式が好きみたいですね。 It is April now.
