ニュージーランドに住[す]んでいない人のために、時々[ときどき]ニュージーランドの話[はなし]を書[か]くことにします。
今日はキャンプの話[はなし]。ニュージーランドにはキャンプ場[じょう]がたくさんあります。先日[せんじつ]、北島[きたじま]の北東[ほくとう]にあるコロマンデル(Coromandel)というところへ行ってきました。そこであるものを見つけびっくりしました。そのあるものとは…。そうです、ストーブなんです。ニュージーランドのキャンパーは本当[ほんとう]にいろいろな道具[どうぐ]を持[も]ってキャンプしますが、こんなのは初[はじ]めて見ました! ここは海[うみ]のすぐ近[す]くのキャンプ場[じょう]なので、魚[さかな]を釣[つ]ってそれをこのストーブですぐに料理[りょうり]して食べる、という計画[けいかく]のようです。このストーブ、キャンプ場[じょう]のものではありません。写真[しゃしん]をよくみると、コロ(koro is "wheel")がつているのがわかると思[おも]います。ここでキャンプしている人が自分[じぶんの家[いえ]から持[も]ってきたのです！いやーびっくり!
コロマンデルはとてもよいところです。北[きた]の方にあるのでいつもあたたかく(まあ、冬[ふゆ]は多少[たしょう]寒[さむ]くなりますが)、寄[よ]ったカフェにはバナナの木に花も咲[はな]いていました。コロマンデルはワイカト大学があるハミルトンから車で3時間で行くことができます。気分転換[きぶんてんかん]に、ちょっとしたホリデーにいいところです。

Today’s topic is camping in NZ. There are many camping grounds in this country and I visited one of them located at Coromandel where is the north-east area of the North Island. I knew New Zealand campers were amazingly well-equipped, but guess what I saw there the other day… yes it was a stove! This was the first time for me in my entire life to see such a big device people brought in for camping! Yes, this stove does not belong to the camping ground. If you have a look at the photo closely, you could see wheels attached there. The camping ground I visited was right next to a beach and those people intended to catch some fish and to cook it immediately for their supper. Amazing!
Coromandel is such a popular destination for New Zealand tourists. This area is warm and I saw banana flower at a café I dropped in there.
