先週[せんしゅう]、日本[にほん]でAPECが開[ひら]かれました。
世界中[せかいじゅう]から、首相[しゅしょう] (= prime minister)、大統領[だいとうりょう] (= president)が日本[にほん]に集[あつ]まりました。アメリカのオバマ大統領[だいとうりょう]もその1人で、鎌倉[かまくら]を訪[たず]ねたそうです。鎌倉[かまくら]は、子[こ]どもの時[とき]に、お母[かあ]さんと一度[いちど]訪[たず]ねたことがあるそうです。鎌倉[かまくら]は、歴史[れきし]のある古[ふる]い街[まち]で、大仏[だいぶつ]で有名[ゆうめい]です。
朝日新聞[あさひしんぶん]のこのページにオバマ大統領[だいとうりょう]の鎌倉[かまくら]での写真[しゃしん]が見[み]られます。大仏[だいぶつ]や好物[こうぶつ]の抹茶[まっちゃ] (= green tea)アイスクリームを食[た]べている写真[しゃしん]もありますよ!
The APEC was held in Japan last week.
Political leaders from all over the world got together in Japan and Obama was one of them. that Obama visited Kamakura. He visited Kamakura with his mother when he was a boy. As you might know, Kamakura is one of the oldest cities in Japan and famous for a big Buddha statue. This page of Asahi Shimbun Newspaper showed photos of Obama’s visit to Kamakura—he is apparently a big fan of green tea ice cream!
