ニュージーランドの公用語[こうようご]はマオリ語ご]と英語[えいご]です。マオリ語[ご]と日本語[にほんご]は発音[はつおん] (= pronunciation)のシステムが似[に]ています(= resemble; similar)。

Do you know what the official language in New Zealand is?
The official languages of New Zealand are Māori and English. By the way, the phonetic system of Māori is somehow similar to that of Japanese. So it is reasonably easy for Japanese people to pronounce Māori words (but you’ve got to learn grammar and vocabulary etc to master Māori…).
It is Māori language week this week (23-29 July 2012). There will be all sorts of events organised related to Māori across the country this week.
