ふつう、日本の食べ物と言ったら、すしや天ぷらがあがりますよね? 写真[しゃしん]のケーキはどうですか?
When you think of Japanese food, sushi, tempura etc, would pop up in your mind, right? But what about cakes like these?
私はケーキが好きです。そして、最近[さいきん](= recently)、日本人の人がニュージーランドで作っているケーキを食べました。日本のケーキは小さめ(= rather small)で、甘[あま]さ控[ひか]えめ(= less sweet)、そして味[あじ](= flavour)がとてもデリケートだと思います。ニュージーランドのケーキもおいしいけれど、ちょっと違[ちが]うと思います。。

I love cakes. I recently ate cakes baked by a Japanese patisserie in New Zealand. Japanese cakes tend to be rather small, less sweet and the taste is quite delicate. New Zealand cakes are not bad, but different from Japanese cakes.
They were absolutely delicious!!
