しばらく前に、菜園[さいえん](= vege garden)用[よう](= for)の肥料[ひりょう](= fertiliser)を使[つか]って、余[あま]った分[ぶん]を外[そと]に置[お]いておきました。つい最近[さいきん]、袋[ふくろ](= bag)から肥料がばらまかれているのに気づきました。一体何が起こったのか、全[まったく]くわかりません。しかし! 昨晩[さくばん]犯人[はんにん](= offender)を突[つ]き止[と]めました(= detected)っ。犯人は。。。
I left a bag of fertiliser for the vege garden outside some time ago. I noticed just a few days ago that there was a bit of mess around the bag but had no idea what happened. Finally last night, I managed to find who (what) was responsible for the mess… Do you want to know the truth of this mystery!?

前にも書きましたが、この動物[どうぶつ]、日本語ではハリネズミ、と言います。「ハリ」は needle、「ねずみ」は mouse という意味です。かわいい名前だと思いませんか?
I wrote this before; this creature is called Harinezumi in Japanese. 'Hari' means needles and 'nezumi' means mouse. Don't you think it is cute?
