今日はアンザックデーです。アンザックデー（ANZAC Day）は、今は、戦争[せんそう](= war)や平和[へいわ]維持[いじ]活動[かつどう](= peacekeeping operation)などで命[いのち]を落[お]とした人たちを弔[とむらう]う日です。元々[もともと](= originally)は、第一次[だいいちじ]世界[せかい]大戦[たいせん](= World War I)でトルコのガリポリで戦[たた]った(= fought)人たちを弔[とむら]う日でした。
It is ANZAC Day today. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. Anzac Day is now a national day for remembrance of people sacrificed themselves in wars, peacekeeping operation and so on. It was originally to honour the members of the ANZAC who fought at Gallipoli against the Ottoman Empire during World War I (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anzac_Day ).
アンザックデーはオーストラリア、及[およ]びニュージーランドにとってとても大切な日です。ですが、今日はちょっと楽[たの]しい[はなし]話について書きます、アンザックビスケットについてです。アンザックビスケットは、第一次世界大戦中に、戦線[せんせん](= front line)で戦[たたか]う人たちに送ったと言われていますが、学術[がくじゅつ]的[てき]な(= academic)研究[けんきゅう](= study)によるとちょっと違[ちが]うみたいです。事実[じじつ](= fact)はどうであれ、アンザックビスケットは、ニュージーランドやオーストラリアの人たちにとってはアンザックデーを思い起こさせるビスケットであり、多くの人に愛[あい]されています。実際[じっさい]にとてもおいしいんです!

It is very a serious and important day for the Austrasia regions. But I would like to talk about a bit of light-hearted matter – ANZAC biscuits. It has been said that these biscuits were baked and sent to the front lines during WWI but some scholarly documents say something slightly different. Whatever the truth ANZAC biscuits hold, people here, in New Zealand, and Australia think of ANZAC biscuits associated with ANZAC commemoration and love the biscuits. It is indeed delicious!
