先週[せんしゅう]の土曜日[どようび]、Avantidromeに行[い]きました。オープニングの日[ひ]でしたので、いろいろなレースがありました。ご覧[らん]のとおり(= as you can see)、このAvantidrome、ワイカト大学[だいがく]も支援[しえん]しています(= to support)。 I went to Avantidrome last Saturday. There was the opening ceremony and quite a few exciting races were held. As you can see, the University of Waikato is one of its supporters.

昨日[きのう]、屋内[おくない]自転車[じてんしゃ]競技場[きょうぎじょう](= an indoor cycling facility)について書[か]きました。中[なか]は、こんな感[かん]じ。とても大[おお]きいでしょう!? この日[ひ’]は2,000人[にん]余[あま]り(= over 2,000)の人々[ひとびと]が入場[にゅうじょう]したそうです。 I wrote about a velodrome yesterday. ワイカト大学[だいがく]は今年[ことし]、設立[せつりつ]50周年[しゅうねん](= the 50th anniversary)を迎[むか]えました。いろいろなイベントがあります。その1つが大学[だいがく]のキャンパスを走[はし]ったり、歩[ある]いたりする、というもの。 毎週[まいしゅう]月曜日[げつようび]の午後[ごご]5時[じ]にキャンパスに集[あつ]まります。歩[ある]きたい人[ひと]は歩[ある]き、走[はし]りたい人[ひと]は走[はし]ります。参加費[さんかひ](= entry fees)は5ドルで、歩[ある]いたり走[はし]ったりしたあとに、飲[の]み物[もの]があります。詳[くわ]しくはこことここで。 今週[こんしゅう]、早速[さっそく]最初[さいしょ]のイベントがありました（下[した]の写真[しゃしん]を見[み]てください）。約[やく]70人(= about 70 people)が集[あつ]まりました。私[わたし]も参加[さんか]しました。楽[たの]しかったです! ハミルトンにいる人[ひと]、是非[ぜひ]来週[らいしゅう]から参加[さんか]してみてください! このイベントは4月7日まで行[おこな]われます。 The University of Waikato now celebrates the 50th anniversary this year and there are all sorts of events having been organised; one of them is Fun run/walk on campus. What am I talking about? – of course, it is about RWC2011, All Blacks vs. Japan. This match will be held at Waikato Stadium, located in Hamilton.

今[いま]、ニュージーランドはRWC2011で持[も]ちきり(= full of)です。ですが、そのほかにもいろいろなスポーツイベントがありますよ! この日曜日[にちようび]、9月11日にハミルトンのワイカト川[がわ]でボートレースがあります。いろいろな高校[こうこう]のチームや、そしてケンブリッジ大学[だいがく]、シドニー大学[だいがく]、メルボルン大学[だいがく]のチームが参加[さんか]します(= to participate)。もちろん、ワイカト大学[だいがく]のチームも参加[さんか]します。 公式[こうしき]サイト(= official site)はここです。ハイライトは午後[ごご]1時[じ]半[はん]ごろから始[はじ]まる、男子[だんし]大学生[だいがくせい]のレースです。日曜日[にちようび]、ハミルトンにいる人は是非[ぜひ]見[み]にきてください。 In this counrty, everybody talks almost just about RWC2011.
