昨日の北海道[ほっかいどう]地震[じしん](= earthquake)について、今日のニュージーランド・ヘラルド紙でも読めます。今日になって、その大きさがさらにわかってきました。先日の台風[たいふう](= typhoon)の問題[もんだい](= troubles)がまだ解決[かいけつ]して(= to solve)いないのに。。。 It has now been revealed how big the Hokkaido earthquake was. Tyhoon in Japan

As you know, Japan was hit by an extremely big typhoon yesterday (4 Sep 2018). The Kansai areas (including Kyoto and Osaka) were badly damaged. 地震とツイッター Earthquake and twitter

月曜日に大きな地震[じしん](= earthquake)日本でありました。電車[でんしゃ](= train)が止まったりしましたが、今はまたちゃんと動[うご]いて(= to move)います。まだ全部[ぜんぶ](= all)元[もと]に戻[もど]ったわけではありません。1日にも早く、いろいろ元に戻りますように。 As you know, a relatively large earthquake hit Japan a couple of days ago. Almost of all trains in the areas stopped but have now resumed. There are still damages which need to repair, but hopefully everything will be back to normal soon.

日本での地震 Earthquake in Japan

今朝[けさ]、かなり大きな地震[じしん](= earthquake)が大阪[おおさか]で起[お]きました。マグニチュード5.9です。あちこちで電車[でんしゃ]が止[と]まったり、道路[どうろ]が不通[ふつう]になったり(= closed)しています。実[じつ]は、昨日、群馬[ぐんま]でも地震[じしん]がありました。マグニチュード4.7でした。余震[よしん](= aftershock)が止まって、みなさんが無事[ぶじ]に(= safely)家[いえ]に帰[かえ]れることを祈[いの]っています。 A relatively large earthquake (M5.9) occurred in Osaka, Japan, this morning. Quite a few trains stopped and some roads are closed now. Actually a slightly smaller-scale earthquake (M.4.7) happened in Gunma, Japan, yesterday. We hope that the aftershocks will stop and people can soon go back home safely.
