大寒波去る The winter storm is over
まだまだ寒[さむ]い日[ひ]は続[つづ]くそうですが、大雪[おおゆき]が降[ふ]ることはもうないそうです。 今日[きょう]ももう1つ今週[こんしゅう]撮[と]った写真[しゃしん]をここに載[の]せます。この花[はな]は日本語[にほんご]で木蓮[もくれん]と言[い]います。春[はる]の感[かん]じがしますね、まだまだ外[そと]は寒[さむ]いですけど!! Apparently cold days will still continue, but we will not expect huge amount of snow for now. I post another photo I took this week. This is called mokuren in Japanese – it is magnolia in English. It shows a sign of spring although it is still very cold out there!!

ニュージーランドにとって、ラグビーは大切[たいせつ]なスポーツです。先週[せんしゅう]の土曜日[どようび]、とても大切[たいせつ]なラグビーの試合[しあい]がありました。それはオール･ブラックスvs. 南[みなみ]アフリカです。予想[よそう]通[とお]り(!)オール･ブラックスが40対[たい]7で南[みなみ]アフリカに勝[か]ちました! Rugby is very important for New Zealand. We had an important rugby match last Saturday: All Blacks vs. South Africa. As we all expected (!), All Blacks won (40 – 7).

先週[せんしゅう]で、日本[にほん]ではテレビのアナログ(= analogue)放送[ほうそう] (= broadcasting)が終[お]わりました。3月の地震[じしん] (= earthquake)の被害[ひがい] (= damage)を受けた宮城県[みやぎけん]、岩手県[いわてけん]、そして福島県[ふくしまけん]だけはまだアナログ放送[ほうそう]を見[み]ることができます。だからこれからは、日本[にほん]でテレビを見[み]たい時[とき]は、デジタル(= digital)放送[ほうそう]が見[み]られるテレビ、または、チューナー(= tuner)を持[も]っていなければいけません。 今日[きょう]、Tokyo mxという放送局[ほうそうきょく]のニュースをYouTubeで見[み]ました。上[うえ]のYouTubeがそれです。 ニュージーランドもそのうち(= in the near future)、デジタル放送[ほうそう]だけになるのでしょうか? 福井県[ふくいけん]坂井市[さかいし]では、そば(= buckwheat)をたくさん育[そだ]てて(= to grow)いるそうです。そこで、そのそばのプロモーションとして、辛味[からみ] (= spicy)大根[だいこん] (= giant white radish)を使[つか]った大人[おとな] の(= for adults)そばを作[つく]ったそうです。朝日新聞[あさひしんぶん]で読[よ]みました。いろいろあって、いちばん辛[から]いのは、R15! このブログの名前[なまえ]からわかるように、私[わたし]はそばが大[だい]好[す]き! 大根[だいこん]も大[だい]好[す]きです。食[た]べてみたいなぁ。。。 Sakai-city, Fukui-prefecture is famous for growing buckwheat.
