読売[よみうり]新聞[しんぶん]で、東北[とうほく]観光[かんこう]博[はく]のニュースを知[し]りました。 東北[とうほく]地方[ちほう] (= Tohoku regions, the areas badly affected by the earthquake and Tsunami last March)は、観光[かんこう]客[きゃく] (= tourists)に人気[にんき]があるところでした。でも、去年[きょねん]の地震[じしん] (= earthquake)の影響[えいきょう] (= influence)で、観光[かんこう]客[きゃく]がとても減[へ]りました。そこで、是非[ぜひ]、観光[かんこう]客[きゃく]に再[ふたた]び(= again)来[き]てもらいたい、と、今月[こんげつ]から東北[とうほく]観光[かんこう]博[はく]が始[はじ]まりました。東北[とうほく]地方[ちほう]全体[ぜんたい] (= a whole)を1つの博覧会[はくらんかい] (= expo)会場[かいじょう] (= venue)と見立[みた]てて(= to pretend)、いろいろなところで、いろいろなイベントがあります。 来年[らいねん]の3月まで続[つづ]くそうです。機会[きかい] (= chances; opportunities)があれば、是非[ぜひ]東北[とうほく]観光[かんこう]博[はく]に行[い]ってみたいです。 I read an article in Yomiuri Shimbun Newspaper reporting Tohoku Tourism Expo which just started now.
