朝日[あさひ]新聞[しんぶん]で、日本[にほん]で有名[ゆうめい]なタレントのアグネス･チャンさんがニュージーランドの高校[こうこう]の理事長[りじちょう]になると、知[し]りました。ニュージーランドの新聞[しんぶん]で検索[けんさく]しました(kensakusuru means to search)が、このニュースはありませんでした。 この高校[こうこう]は、AIC(オークランド・インターナショナル・カレッジ)高校[こうこう]という高校[こうこう]で、いろいろな国[くに]の生徒[せいと]が勉強[べんきょう]しているそうです。アグネス･チャンさんは元々[もともと] (= originally)香港[ほんこん]の人[ひと]で、若[わか]い時[とき]に日本[にほん]に来[き]て歌手[かしゅ]になりました。今[いま]は、歌手[かしゅ]のほかユニセフの活動[かつどう] (= activities; work)など、さまざまな仕事[しごと]をしています。 面白[おもしろ]いですね。 I read an article on Asahi Shimbun newspaper reporting that Ms Agnes Chan, a famous celebrity in Japan would become the president of a high school in New Zealand. 3D TV in Japan
先日[せんじつ]のアカデミー賞[しょう]で、3D映画[えいが]の『アバター』が話題[わだい]になりました。日本[にほん]では、テレビでも3D対応[たいおう] (= coping)型[がた] (= type)がこれから話題[わだい]になりそうです。 “Avatar” made a big hit lately. Needless to say, this is a 3D film and people in Japan now can own a TV which copes with 3D broadcasting!

The goods of those brands are really expensive. But Japanese people also really like cheap stuff. For example, there are so many so-called “100yen shop” in Japan (equivalent to 1, 2, 3 dollar shops here).
