先日、祇園祭[ぎおんまつり](= Gion Festival)について書きました。祇園祭は多分[たぶん](= probably)、日本で一番[いちばん]有名[ゆうめい]なお祭[まつり]です。でもそのほかにもいろいろなお祭があります。夏[なつ]はお祭の季節[きせつ]です! 相馬[そうま]野馬追[のまおい]というお祭が先週[せんしゅう]から福島[ふくしま]県[けん]で行[おこな]われています。下の動画[どうが](= motion picture)はそのお祭の中のイベントです（相馬野馬追の中に、いろいろなイベントがあります。今日もあります）。 今年のお祭は特別[とくべつ](= special)です。2011年の地震[じしん]以降[いこう](= after the 2011 earthquake)、行[おこな]われていなかったイベントが、今年行われるのです! そのイベントが行われる場所[ばしょ]は、福島[ふくしま]原発[げんぱつ](= the Fukushima Nuclear Power Plants)の影響[えいきょう](= affect)で避難[ひなん]勧告[かんこく](= evacuation order)が出[だ]されていました。しかし、最近[さいきん]、その勧告[かんこく]が解除[かいしょ]されました(= to be lifted)。今年、そこでお祭を行うことができるようになりました!!! すばらしいですね。 I wrote about Gion Festival the other day. 今、日本は夏[なつ]! 夏はお祭[まつり](= festival)の季節[きせつ]です。いろいろな有名[ゆうめい]なお祭がありますが、中でも特[とく]に(= especially)有名[ゆうめい]なのが京都[きょうと]の祇園祭[ぎおんまつり]です。 祇園祭は、京都の八坂[やさか]神社[じんじゃ]のお祭[まつり]です。1000年以上の歴史[れきし]があります。毎年[まいとし]、7月に1か月にわたって、いろいろなお祭の行事[ぎょうじ](= events)があります。以下[いか]の(= the following)動画[どうが](= motion picture)はこの週末[しゅうまつ]に行われた山鉾[やまほこ]巡行[じゅんぎょう]です。すごいですね! 今日は夏至[げし](= summer solstice)です－これは北半球[きたはんきゅう](= the Northen Hemisphere)のことで、我々[われわれ]ニュージーランドは、南半球[みなみはんきゅう](= the Southern Hemisphere)ですから、冬至[とうじ](= winter solstice)です。 It is the Summer Solstice today – of course, this is the case in the Northen Hemisphere.
